Joshua Barbero

Josh started woodworking in Lake Tahoe as a way to pay the bills between epic telemark ski weekends as a young person. What started as a lark, became a passion as Josh developed skills in solving difficult, detail-oriented carpentry challenges. Given how strong his spacial reasoning is, it was either high-end carpentry, or becoming the world tetris champion.

Although Josh welcomes projects at different levels of complexity, he particularly enjoys building custom cabinetry and bookshelves. He relishes the old ways of doing things- he prefers hand drawings over CAD, in person brainstorming over email and the hand-made over the mass produced.

When Josh isn't helping people make their houses into homes, he makes sure that his partner Margaret, their daughter Maeve and their dog Nellie get plenty of fresh air through outdoor adventures and nourishing dinners which he whips up out seemingly thin air.
